Pai Fund (Climate Action in Israel)

The PAI Foundation (Climate Action in Israel) is a philanthropic partnership established in 2023 with the goal of advancing initiatives and solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Israel, while creating sustainable systemic change. The foundation’s strategy includes fostering intra- and cross-sector collaborations, integrating diverse tools and action channels, and driving processes based on science and research. The Gandyr Foundation is a founding member of the philanthropic partnership since its inception.

Dror Neve Midbar

The Dror Neve Midbar Eco-Technological High School was established in September 2023 by the Dror Educational Network. Located in the Bedouin village of Abu Krinat in the Neve Midbar Regional Council, the school is a regional vocational high school serving boys and girls from 15 Bedouin communities in the Negev. Its main field of study is “Desert Resource Development,” in collaboration with the Arava Institute. This track focuses on professional training in various environmental fields—renewable energy, water management, eco-agriculture, climate, and waste. In 2022, a solar electricity production project was established in Abu Krinat by Marom Energy (owned by ProSeed), providing a stable source of income for local families. The Gandyr Foundation supports the Desert Resource Development track as a philanthropic complement to the business activity, with the aim of creating economic, social, and educational opportunities for the local Bedouin community.

Roundtable Discussion on Urban Renewal Policy Reform

A multi-sector roundtable on community-oriented and sustainable urban renewal, led by Eretz Irr and the Ikar Ha'Ir Organization. It was established to influence policy change that would integrate social and environmental aspects into urban renewal processes, taking a broad view of neighborhoods, and to promote economic models enabling renewal outside high-demand areas. Participants in the roundtable include representatives from all sectors involved in urban renewal: government ministries, local authorities, developers, real estate companies, social and environmental consulting bodies, financial institutions, civil society, and academia. Alongside other philanthropic foundations, the Gandyr Foundation has been a funding partner of the multi-sector roundtable since its inception.

Impact Assessment Tool for Urban Renewal Initiatives
Supported in 2023-2025

The Impact Assessment Tool for urban renewal projects was developed by the Center for Urban and Regional Studies – Carasso Program for Housing and Social Development and the SFI Group, with joint funding from the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation and ProSeed. The tool measures the social and environmental benefits of urban renewal projects, with the aim of encouraging investors, developers, local authorities, and government bodies to promote urban renewal initiatives that take social and environmental aspects into account. The Gandyr Foundation supported the development of the tool for measuring the impact of urban renewal projects and its implementation process.

ArtBay

ArtBay Program (led by the Ir-Azir Association and in partnership with the Bracha Foundation), launched in 2024, aims to encourage artists to remain and work in the Talpiot Market area, support art and cultural activities in the space as tools for strengthening community bonds and fostering connections among different population groups, and develop a local model for branding the area as Haifa’s art district.

HaNeviim
Supported in 2025-2026

Established in 2016 as part of the Ir-Azir entrepreneurs’ network, the school operates as a cooperative of artists who live, create, and teach in the neighborhood. It hosts cultural events alongside courses, workshops, and classes for developing artistic careers and creative skills. The school also offers artists the option to rent private and shared studio spaces at a reduced cost.
To support the school's continued growth, the Gandyr Foundation provided funding in 2025 for the development of additional learning and workspaces at the school's campus in the Hadar neighborhood of Haifa.

Makom LeShira
Supported in 2024-2025

A cultural and educational institution dedicated to promoting poetry and literature in Israel, publishing books, and serving as a home for writers. It hosts literary events, poetry festivals, and a variety of writing workshops. The Haifa center of *Makom Lashira*, established in 2019, is a home for the literary community in the north—bringing together local creators and culture enthusiasts.
In 2025, the Gandyr Foundation supported the development of the organization's activity space in the Hadar neighborhood of Haifa.

Haira

An association whose mission is to promote, initiate, and develop vibrant and sustainable public spaces, in cooperation with local authorities and stakeholders. The organization focuses on addressing the challenges of climate change and urban density by implementing interventions in the public sphere. Haira operates in a hands-on learning program model, where the municipal team learns and gains experience in urban sustainability and tools for its application. The organization’s methodology integrates three circles of action—physical, organizational, and community—together with ten principles for sustainable urban development, with the goal of creating beneficial public spaces in cities.

Muslala

Musalala is a pioneering Jerusalem-based association operating at the intersection of art, ecology, education, and community. The association revitalizes neglected urban spaces and transforms them into centers of creativity, belonging, and renewal. Musalala’s “Roof Revolution” (via “Roof-Organization”) offers a new model for using urban rooftops as green, communal, and sustainable spaces. Following successes in Jerusalem, the program is currently expanding to additional municipalities across the country. The Gandyr Foundation supports the Roof-Organization project.

Heschel Sustainability Center
Supported in 2025

The Heschel Center for Sustainability develops and implements a vision of sustainability—a just and cohesive society, a robust and democratic economy, and a productive and healthy environment for all its inhabitants. The center connects conceptual knowledge with practical know-how, spreads the idea of sustainability through creative means, and supports change agents from all sectors in advancing meaningful, in-depth processes throughout Israel. The Heschel Center’s Fellows Program is Israel’s longest-standing and leading leadership program in the field of sustainability. For more than 25 years, it has worked to cultivate engaged leadership and to bring about change in Israeli society in the realms of environment, society, and economy. The Gandyr Foundation supports the strategic development of the Fellows Program.

The Village
Supported in 2025

The Village is a women's community hub located in the heart of the Hadar neighborhood in Haifa. The space brings together art, community, and the local economy, creating meaningful connections among women from diverse social, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
The Village focuses on four core areas: shared society, women's health, arts and creativity, and leadership and entrepreneurship.
The Gandyr Foundation supports the initiative's organizational infrastructure.

Just A Second
Infrastructure Support in 2025-2026

Just A Second is advancing systemic change in the management of high-quality bulky waste in Israel by developing innovative, sustainable solutions that promote large-scale reuse and upcycling, inspired by leading international models.
The initiative rescues items that would otherwise be sent to landfill, sourcing them from apartment clearances associated with urban renewal projects, retail and office renovations, and municipal waste streams. These items are repaired and refurbished by volunteers and military reservists under the guidance of professional designers, and are then sold in a thoughtfully designed retail space.
The Gandyr Foundation supports the initiative's strategic development.

Lira Shapira – A Local Green Currency
Infrastructure Support in 2025-2026

Lira Shapira is an environmental initiative that promotes sustainable urban living. Established in 2018 by residents of the Shapira neighborhood in Tel Aviv–Jaffa, the initiative encourages household organic waste separation by building a local circular economy and strengthening community ties.
At the heart of the initiative is a local currency and an accessible platform that transform organic waste from a nuisance into a valuable community resource. Residents earn and use the currency to purchase locally produced goods and agricultural products.
The Gandyr Foundation supports the development of the local currency's mobile application and its expansion to additional community gardens.

Derech Tzel – The Center for Urban Forestry and Shading
Infrastructure Support in 2025-2026

Derech Tzel – The Center for Urban Forestry and Shading works to make Israel's cities greener, cooler, and better shaded, helping communities adapt to climate change while improving residents' quality of life.
The Center supports municipalities in advancing urban forestry and complementary shading solutions through the development and implementation of professional knowledge, tools, and best practices. Derech Tzel operates within the Israel Green Building Council, in partnership with Yad Hanadiv and the Government of Israel.
The Gandyr Foundation supports the development of diversified revenue streams to strengthen the initiative's long-term sustainability.

EretzIr
Infrastructure Support in 2025-2026

EretzIr was established in 2006 to promote urban community-building and social entrepreneurship in Israel's geographic and social periphery. The organization works alongside communities and social entrepreneurs to foster vibrant, resilient, and sustainable urban life.
In addition, EretzIr develops dedicated programs and innovative models that advance quality employment, community-led urban renewal, community tourism, community development, and social entrepreneurship.
The Gandyr Foundation supports the development of the organization's operating model and strategic plan for its urban neighborhood renewal work. The Foundation also supports Artbay and the Roundtable for Urban Renewal Policy, both led by EretzIr.

Strengthening the Field of Care for Survivors of Sexual Trauma

Mabat Forum – Promoting a Trauma-Informed Healthcare System

The forum was established in June 2023 at the initiative of HIPPAM (The Israeli Society for the Advancement of Diagnosis, Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse) in collaboration with leading civil society organizations, as well as academic and healthcare system stakeholders. The forum’s goal is to promote the transformation of the healthcare system into a trauma-informed system—one that actively works to create a safe environment for all within it, reduces elements that re-trigger or cause trauma during medical encounters, and prevents secondary traumatization and burnout among staff. The forum operates through several channels, including raising awareness of the issue, developing knowledge and practices in the field, conducting research, and promoting supportive policies.

HaSharon Sexual Assault Crisis Center for Women and Men Survivors

“Sichat Nefesh”
Hasharon Sexual Assault Crisis Center provides emotional support and assistance to survivors of sexual assault and their close circles. The center offers a variety of services, including a telephone and chat hotline, support groups, legal assistance, community support, activities in formal and informal education, and professional training programs. In 2024, the center established the *“Sichat Nefesh”* (“Heart-to-Heart Conversation”) helpline—a groundbreaking support line for professionals working with survivors of sexual trauma, who as a result are exposed to emotional overload, burnout, and secondary trauma. The helpline offers a safe space for sharing and alleviating emotional burden, enabling caregivers to regain balance and maintain their well-being in both personal and professional contexts.

Briah Foundation
“Borot” Incubator, Phase B, and the Incubator Alumni Community

The Briya Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting women’s health in Israel. Its mission is to improve the quality of medical care and health services provided to women, raise awareness of issues related to women’s health, and support research, development, and social initiatives in this field. The “Borot” Incubator of the Briya Foundation is an accelerator program for innovative ventures promoting women’s health in the healthcare system. The incubator provides participants with professional guidance, enabling them to develop their projects and expand their impact. The Gandyr Foundation supports the establishment of the incubator’s alumni community and Phase B of the incubator program, in which selected ventures that have completed Phase A are supported in scaling their impact and developing sustainable programs within the healthcare system.

Drawing Change Fund - Red Lines Initiative

The *Red Lines Initiative* is a collective impact project involving over 100 organizations (public, social, and business sectors) working together to prevent domestic violence in Israel. The initiative emphasizes prevention activities, early detection, and culturally adapted referrals for treatment, alongside significantly raising public awareness and public discourse around the issue, in close cooperation among all relevant stakeholders. The *Lines for Change Foundation* is a philanthropic partnership established by the partner foundations in *Red Lines*, aimed at advancing projects that focus on preventing and detecting domestic violence at an early stage.

Gesher LaNefesh SIB

A Social Impact Bond with a pay-for-success model to promote community mental health - it offers an advanced home and community treatment service for individuals struggling with severe psychiatric disorders, which will improve and stabilize their mental and physical condition, ensure they utilize their legal rights, connect them to rehabilitation services, and reduce the length and frequency of hospitalizations in psychiatric and general wards.

Enosh - Beit Goma for Women

Beit Goma for Women, established by the Enosh Association, is a unique mental health residential facility in Jerusalem that offers a therapeutic alternative to psychiatric hospitalization—and its prevention—for women experiencing acute mental health crises. Operating in a warm and supportive community environment, the house provides its residents with holistic professional care delivered by a multidisciplinary team.
The Gandyr Foundation supports the integration of DBT into staff training and the provision of advanced tools for the residents. In addition, a DBT group is offered for women who have completed their stay at the house.
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) is a therapeutic approach designed primarily for individuals coping with emotional regulation difficulties and mental health crises. The method combines self-acceptance with work on change and provides practical tools for improving interpersonal skills, managing emotions, and building resilience for a more stable life.

The RoadMap program aims to advance young Arab high-tech juniors, helping them reach their full potential and progress to senior professional and management positions. This program offers group sessions, workshops, and personalized mentoring, collaborating with employers to bolster career skills and cultivate a diverse talent pool for Israeli high-tech.

Kodcode

Kodcode has established the leading program for identifying exceptional young Haredi men who have dedicated their lives to Torah study. The program quickly eliminates knowledge gaps and provides students with advanced technical expertise, with the aim of placing them in highly sought-after positions in IDF tech and intelligence units. With full integration into Unit 8200 and its counterparts, graduates are making an impact in Israel’s defense sector, and are poised to succeed as software developers in leading tech companies.

"Heznek HaGalil" Impact Bond for Integrating Druze into the Tech Industry

A Career Impact Bond project to train young Druze men and women in high-tech professions (software and hardware), in collaboration with the Appleseeds Association. The program places graduates in relevant jobs. Program participants repay the training cost to impact investors after they start working in the field and earn above-average salaries.

"Mefathim" Impact Bond for Integrating Ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) Men in Hi-Tech

The Mefathim Career Impact Bond is a joint project of SFI, the Israel Innovation Authority, and Mefathim. The program trains ultra-Orthodox, Haredi men for careers in high-tech professions and prepares them for the secular work environment. Mefathim has developed a unique learning method that simulates the "chavruta" learning of ultra-Orthodox yeshivas to teach science, mathematics, and programming.

Young Adults in Israel

Ma’aleh Initiative

A joint initiative of the Rashi Foundation, the Gandyr Foundation, and the Youth Authority at the Ministry for the Development of the Negev, Galilee, and National Resilience, aimed at advancing the field of youth affairs in local authorities. The initiative focuses on strengthening the capacity of local authorities to plan and implement policies based on an understanding of the specific needs of young people, creating an environment that allows them to realize their potential. The pilot program of the initiative operates in dozens of local authorities, providing them with professional guidance and tools to develop youth services in their areas, formulate municipal policy, and build strategic plans in this field. The pilot will serve as a basis for learning and expanding to the national level, with the goal of embedding its principles within the Youth Authority.

Mid’ad Initiative

The Mid’ad Initiative works to promote participation and social engagement among young men and women in Arab society. As part of the initiative, around 16 groups of young people operate across the country, led by civil society organizations or local authorities. The initiative is based on a discourse of activism, engagement, and bottom-up influence, both at the national and local levels. The young participants in the initiative acquire skills that will help them engage in activism and develop leadership abilities, enabling them to take responsibility and bring about change locally and nationally.

Bnei Makom - Local Young Communities Network

The network operates in various towns in the periphery to foster mission-driven communities of local young men and women. The connection among community members and their community activities stem from their unique and deep bond with the locality in which they grew up and where they are building their future. The initiative was founded in 2015. Currently, 13 communities operate across the country, composed of members from all sectors of Israeli society, all sharing the desire to strengthen community life and improve quality of life in their locality. The network serves as a professional and ideological home for the communities, which together create a shared local story.

NATAL – Personal and Career Development Department

NATAL (Israel Trauma and Resiliency Center) works toward creating a resilient Israeli society in which individuals, families, and communities affected by trauma resulting from national security threats lead meaningful, fulfilling lives. NATAL specializes in providing mental health care and support to those affected by trauma due to national security situations and to those around them. NATAL’s Personal and Career Development Department offers a range of solutions for individuals coping with post-trauma as a result of military service or terrorist attacks, and who require assistance in employment or education. The main service is trauma-informed employment coaching, focusing on the participant’s strengths and improving skills that may have been impacted by traumatic events, with full personal customization.

The Edmond de Rothschild Partnerships is the social arm of the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation, working to reduce gaps and create opportunities for young people from Israel’s socio-geographic periphery. The organization believes that investing in these populations will greatly contribute to equality and to changing Israel’s social climate. Link 20, part of the Edmond de Rothschild Partnerships, is a network of young adults with and without disabilities, working to promote equality, diversity, and the rights of people with disabilities. This is done by strengthening digital leadership, networking young leaders for the promotion of shared goals, and engaging in social media advocacy to change public perception. The network’s members—both with and without disabilities—share the understanding that social change is a common interest for society as a whole.

Yesod أساس Program

The Ma’ase Center Association has been working for over two decades to promote socio-economic mobility among young men and women from the periphery, through various programs focusing on civic engagement and volunteering, enabling personal growth processes, and providing opportunities to make an impact. The Yesod أساس program—training for the public service sector in collaboration with the Reserves Division A in the Ministry of Education and led by the Yesodot Center (part of the Ma’ase Center)—focuses on diversifying the public service by training young people from all parts of Israeli society. The program includes group training as well as professional mentoring to explore participants’ personal areas of activity and to support their integration and professional development in the social and public spheres. Yesod أساس serves as a channel for nurturing excellence in public service within the framework of the national “Reserves for Israel” program.

Scholarships for Master’s Students in Young Adulthood Studies

The Master’s program in Young Adulthood Studies at the Academic College of Tel Aviv–Yaffo offers a rich framework of learning, internships, and research in this new academic field in Israel. The goal of the program is to deepen knowledge about the young adulthood stage (ages 18–35) and to train professionals to drive innovation in motivating, managing, and supporting young adults, alongside designing products, providing services, and working daily with and for them. The Gandyr Foundation is a partner in funding scholarships for participants in the program.

Alumni Organizations Forum

The Alumni Organizations Forum, established in 2013, brings together approximately 40 social organizations that operate alumni organizations and communities. The forum works to develop and advance the profession of alumni community management, based on the belief in the ability of alumni of social programs to advance the goals of the organizations in which they participated and to make an impact on Israeli society. The forum also serves as a platform for consultation, peer learning, and encouraging collaboration among organizations in the civil sector. All these serve as force multipliers for realizing the goals of alumni networks and communities in Israel.

NIROOT: Forum of Organizations for At-Risk Youth

The forum consists of over 30 social organizations that support young men and women at risk. These organizations have joined forces to bring about social change, promote dialogue and awareness, and create collaborations and on-the-ground solutions. The forum has three main objectives: A. Promote and change policies for young people at risk. B. Strengthen professionalism within organizations through training courses, managing professional communities, and providing access to knowledge. C. Integrate gender and cultural sensitivity into organizations, programs, and solutions in the field.

Forum of Young Adults Employment Organizations

The forum is the home of youth employment organizations in Israel. Established in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 crisis, it brings together approximately 50 civil society organizations providing employment services to tens of thousands of young people aged 18–35 from all sectors of Israeli society. The forum’s work is based on the perception that employment is a socio-economic anchor at the individual, societal, and national levels. Its strength lies in its ability to gather the knowledge accumulated in different organizations and disseminate it, as well as to promote policies and cross-sector initiatives. The forum also works to increase cooperation and maximize resources among member organizations, while developing the profession and promoting innovation in the field.

Young Adulthood Researchers’ Community

The Young Adulthood Researchers’ Community was established in 2020 to create a space for shared thinking and the development of knowledge and practice regarding the period of young adulthood. The community aims to build a network of researchers from various disciplines and perspectives, creating opportunities for dialogue and joint activity in the field of young adulthood studies in Israel. The community operates within the Academic College of Tel Aviv–Yaffo and currently has 120 members.
